BEWARE OF "GREY" IMPORTS

BEWARE OF "GREY" IMPORTS

There are currently several unauthorised dealers supplying 'grey' (parallel) imported products that have not been imported either by or with the consent of Sony.

At a cursory glance, "grey" products may appear to be an attractive financial proposition BUT please be aware that these products do not carry any Sony warranty or support within the UK or EU, so in the event of a problem a customer is at best reliant upon their supplier to provide any warranty repairs. Some "grey" products are supplied with an inferior third party warranty scheme which is not supported by Sony. The worst casescenario is that a customer could end up having to return a "grey" imported product to its country of original supply for repair and since most of these products are imported from countries such as China, Malaysia and Australia this would be a highly costly, time consuming and risky exercise.

At CVP we strive to offer the best possible deal to our customers. We are approved specialist dealers for all Sony Broadcast products. As such we only sell products that have been officially imported into the EU by Sony, thus benefitting from a full Sony backed warranty and with all applicable import duties and VAT fully paid.

All of our Sony DVCAM, HDV, XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX products come as standard with a 2 year Sony "Silver Support" warranty which even includes collection, return and a free loan unit if your product suffers a manufacturing defect and is not repaired within 7 days.

CVP is the UK's #1 Sony Broadcast dealer and has a fully Sony authorised in-house service department which you can rely on for any non-warranty service and support.

Our best advice is therefore to avoid "grey" products and buy your Sony equipment from us because with CVP you're in safe hands.
